The answer is, as with any puzzle, simple if you can spot the pattern. It is the number of letters multiplied by 2.
Therefore AT with two letters is 2 x 2.
CAT with 3 letters is 3 x 2.
Therefore TWISTER with 7 letters is 7 x 2 = 14.
